Dr. Swarup Bhunia Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Florida FICS Research Education Director Preeminence Professor, Steven Yatauro Faculty Fellow has received three prestigious awards in the recent month of April.  Dr. Bhunia has been awarded the IEEE-CS TCVLSI Distinguished Research Award which recognizes significant and outstanding research contributions to the VLSI community through a leadership position. The award is based on the impact of research contributions made to the VLSI community. The award recognizes his exceptional leadership abilities and research addressing the interaction between the semiconductor process and system design on VLSI, integrating the design, fabrication, application in hardware excellence over the last fifteen years.

The University of Florida Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering acknowledged Dr. Bhunia’s collegiate efforts by awarding him the 2018 ECE Research Excellence Award.  Additionally, Dr. Bhunia received the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering 2018 Faculty Award for Excellence in Innovation which acknowledges his excellence in engineering innovation and exemplifies innovation and creativity through research.
