FICS Faculty advances Hardware Security Internationally

FICS Research Associate Professor and IoT Term Professor Yier Jin was this year’s AsianHOST program chair. IEEE Asian Hardware Oriented Security and Trust Symposium (AsianHOST) is an annual event which aims to facilitate the rapid growth of hardware-based security research and development internationally. Another goal of this conference is to help build an strong hardware security community within the Asian and Pacific area. AsianHOST highlights new results in the area of hardware and system security. Relevant research topics include techniques, tools, design/test methods, architectures, circuits, and applications of secure hardware.

FICS Research faculty contributed significantly to this year’s conference. FICS Research Assistant Professor Domenic Forte was one of the featured visionary speakers. Other contributions include presenting papers, serving on the panels, serving as panel chair, etc. The paper co-authored by Intel Chair E Young Endowed Chair Professor IEEE Fellow Dr. Mark Tehranipoor won the Best Paper Award at this year’s conference. Dr. Yier Jin advised “The 2017 AsianHOST symposium was great — we can clearly see a significant growth in attendance, it is great to witness a healthy trend being established and I am grateful to assist in building a cybersecurity program impacting international researchers”.
