FICS Research 2020 Conference on Cybersecurity Health Information – Statement on COVID-19 /Coronavirus

The World health Organization (WHO) has declared that the Coronavirus is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). While the immediate risk of the Coronavirus to the American public is believed to be low at this time1, FICS Research wants to assure you that the conference will take place. Our institute is taking the following steps to maintain a safe and healthy environment at our 2020 Conference on Cybersecurity:

• We are committed to
  following the guidance of the World Health
  Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

• Per this guidance, we are requesting that all attendees and exhibitors evaluate their own health and that of people with whom they are in close contact.

• Per this guidance, we
  are asking attendees and exhibitors NOT to attend if:
  • They
    have traveled from, to, or through mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, or any other CDC-identified region of
    concern within 15 days prior to the conference.
  • They
    are unsure whether they have been in contact with individuals who have traveled from, to or through
    mainland China, Hong Kong, or Macau in the 15 days prior to the conference and;
    they feel unwell or demonstrate any acute respiratory illness symptoms (i.e.,
    fever, cough, shortness of breath).

• We are encouraging
  attendees and exhibitors to follow the guidance of the CDC for
  everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses.

• Wash hands often with soap and water for at
  least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and
  after blowing your nose, coughing, or
  sneezing.
• If soap and water are not readily available, use
  an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands
  with soap and water if hands are
  visibly dirty.
• Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with
  unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Stay home when
  sick.
• Cover a cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw
  the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects
  and surfaces using regular household
  cleaning spray or wipe.
