Adib Nahiyan is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under Dr. Tehranipoor at the University of Florida. He got his BS degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His current projects include DSeRC: Design Security Rule Check, and FORTIS: A Comprehensive Solution for Establishing Forward Trust in SoC Design Flow. In his spare time, he likes swimming, listening to music, watching movies and books, and sleeping.

Exploiting electromagnetic (EM) emissions from integrated circuits for novel solutions to supply chain security problems, contact-free counterfeit detection, hardware security.

Andrew Stern is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under Dr. Tehranipoor at the University of Florida. He got his BS degree from the University of Rochester. His current project is MURI: Nanoscale hardware security with a personal focus on anti-tampering and anti-probing techniques. His hobbies include playing video games, tennis, squash, listening to music, watching financial market trends, and eating different types of cuisine.

Angela Newsome

Angela Newsome is currently pursuing her Masters/Ph.D. under Dr. Bhunia in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Florida. She received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University in 2015 and joined FICS research in Fall 2017. From 2015-2017, Angela worked as a Nuclear Controls Engineer for the DoD primarily on submarine microprocessor systems. Her current projects include: Clandestine Acoustic NEMS labels for Authentication and Traceability. Her hobbies include traveling, listening to music and sport.

Christopher Patton

Cryptography and privacy.

Christopher Patton is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under Dr. Shrimpton at the University of Florida. He got his MS and BS degrees from the University of California, Davis. The main thrust of my work is to nudge exiting cryptographic theory closer to the real-world engineering challenges its implementation encounters. This involves cleaning up the pipeline from paper to standard, from standard to implementation, and from implementation to deployment. I’m also interested in advancing crypto-for-privacy as a discipline.

Dave (Jing) Tian

Dave Tian is currently working with Dr. Butler at the University of Florida. His recent projects involve embedded storage, trusted computing, and USB security. He holds an ME degree and has worked in Alcatel-Lucent R&D for 4 years. He was a member of OSIRIS Lab. He enjoys Linux kernel hacking, compiler hacking, drinking beers, listening to music, watching movies and playing guitars.

Fahim Rahman is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under Dr. Tehranipoor at the University of Florida. He got his MS degree from University of Connecticut, and BS degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Tech. His current projects include developing hardware-assisted solutions for cyber/IoT security and establishing universal security theory for evaluation and development of innovative security primitives using emerging nanoelectronic devices. In his free time, he likes to travel, cook, and read books.

Farimah Farahmandi

Farimah Farahmandi is currently pursuing Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Mishra at the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering, the University of Florida. She received her B.S. and M.S. from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), the University of Tehran, Iran in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Her current projects include security analysis of post-silicon validation infrastructures and IPTrust: a comprehensive framework for IP Integrity validation with a focus on formal methods. In her spare time, she likes dancing, swimming, listening to music and reading novels.

Grant Hernandez

Hardware-assisted software security, systems security, USB devices, program analysis, binary exploitation, and reverse engineering.

Grant Hernandez is currently pursuing his Ph.D under the supervision of Dr. Butler. His current research interests include analyzing USB firmware with symbolic execution in order to classify devices and applying Intel SGX to two-party computation in order to improve performance, while maintaining security properties. On the side, Grant is a member of
UF’s Student InfoSec Team where he participates in Capture the Flag (CTF) and cyber defense competitions. Some of his assorted hobbies include administering computers, creating audio-synced computer graphics, and going to electronic music festivals.

Jiaji is currently pursuing his PhD under Dr. Yier Jin. Jiaji He received the B.S. degree in electronic science and technology from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2013, and he received the M.S. degree in microelectronics from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, in 2015. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the School of Microelectronics, Tianjin University, China. Shubhra Deb Paul is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Bhunia at the University of Florida. He earned his MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and the BSc degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). His current projects include: Developing Current-based PUF for PCB Authentication and NMR-based Food/Consumable Items Authentication and Traceability. Tamzidul Hoque is pursuing PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Swarup Bhunia. His PhD research is focused on hardware security, with emphasis on hardware Trojan detection, device and hardware intellectual property (IP) security. He has completed summer internship in Cisco at their RTP campus within the Advanced Security Research & Government (ASRG) group during summer 2016 and 2017. During his internship he worked on security issues related to field-programmable gate array (FPGA) devices.

She got her B.E. from Osmania University. Her current project is Individualized Style Markers for Large-scale Authorship Attribution. Her hobbies include photography and gardening.

Brad Reaves received his PhD working with Dr. Traynor at the University of Florida. He got two MS degrees from Georgia Tech and Mississippi State University. His current projects include Developing systems for end-to-end phone call authentication and Measuring market-scale app obfuscation. His hobbies include Netflix, running, reading fiction and non-fiction.

Gustavo K. Contreras received his Ph.D. under Dr. Tehranipoor at the University of Florida. He got his MS and BS degree from University of Connecticut. His current projects include Deterministic built-in-self-test, BIST for reliability measures, Test point insertion, and Secure test methods and vulnerability analysis. His likes playing soccer, music mixing, grilling, cooking, rock climbing, and kayaking/boating.

Robert Karam is currently pursuing his Ph.D. under Dr. Bhunia at the University of Florida. He got his MS and BS degree from Case Western Reserve University. His current projects include Security for reconfigurable systems against IP Piracy, Tampering, and RE; Security through diversification for power/area constrained systems; Secure FPGA overlay for device uniquification, programmability. His hobbies include photography, playing guitar and piano, reading, baking, beer/wine tasting.

Tauhidur Rahman is currently a professor at University of Alabama Huntsville and received his Ph.D. under Dr. Tehranipoor at the University of Florida. He got his MS degree from University of Conncticut, and MS degree from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His current project is Hardware-based Security Primitives and their Applications to Supply Chain Integrity. His hobbies include watching Soccer, playing soccer.
